AL
TOLL
TK Marketing Results, Founder and Board Member
Al has over 40 years
of experience developing technology and marketing programs, primarily
in airline and travel-related businesses around
the world. Most recently, he designed and built an online fully-integrated
loyalty product based on a sliding-scale reward model and branded
as Amadeus. Their first launch customer was Island
Air in 2007.
Al served as a Board Member for Airline Automation, Inc. for
over ten years until 2006 when it was acquired by Amadeus and
re-branded
Amadeus Revenue Integrity (ARI). Al was contracted to serve as
Executive Vice President for ARI and drove the integration of the
Tucson division into the corporate operation and SAS 70 Certification.
In 2006, Discover the World Marketing, a leading travel industry
sales representation and marketing company, had an opportunity
to handle Air One but they were direct competitors of one of their
current larger clients. Al founded TK Marketing Results and immediately
took over all Air One activities to launch the airline in the US
on behalf of Discover.
In 2004, Al started Toll Development, a
travel-related software development company. He designed and
built internet booking engines
for Island Air, Vanguard and ERA. His company handled the sales
and marketing for the launch of National Airlines and a regional
carrier for Mesa Airlines. As a joint-venture partner with National
Airlines, he developed National Vacations’ tour reservations
system. He consulted with Maupin Tours, Vision
Holidays, a division
on Vision Airlines, and TWA Getaway Vacations. Al developed and
drove the functional requirements for Latin Pass, a frequent flyer
application serving 19 airlines.
In 2002, Al launched Planet Earth
Exploration (PEX) as an outsourced call center for Frontier Airline’s
package tour division. He sold the company in 2004 to Extraordinary
Vacations.
In 1989, Al founded Total Fulfillment, Inc. (TFI) a
full-service direct marketing and fulfillment company. TFI grew
to be the largest
fulfillment provider for Public Television (PBS) nationwide by
building membership applications that improved customer service,
streamlined the pledge process and increased donations. TFI developed
several niche travel programs for airline, hotel and travel-related
clients, including becoming the outsourced ticketing department
for America West Airlines. In 2001, TFI was sold to the Omaha World
Herald.
Al served as Country Director for Discover the World
Marketing.
He managed sales teams in the US for bmi, Spanair, and Alitalia and oversaw the reservations office for bmi in North America.
In
1986, America West Airlines contracted with Al to perform a feasibility
study on expanding into leisure package tours. He was
then hired to launch and manage America West Vacations (AWV). Al
established package tours in Las Vegas, Hawaii and Arizona, created
advertising campaigns, developed software applications to manage
the operation and within 2 years grew the division to a 350 person
reservations call center.
In 1983, Al launched Travel Express,
a start-up travel agency which sold two years later.
Al started
with Frontier Airlines in 1970 in airport station operations
moving up to a Regional Director of Sales and Service
and ending
his 13 years there as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for
Frontier Commuter Airlines.
Al grew up in Arizona where he and
his family now reside and is a graduate of the University of
Arizona in Tucson with a B.A. in
Latin American Studies. Al currently serves as a Board Member for
